As mentioned earlier, there’s no way to turn the Balance Color correction down, but if you want to turn it (or any effect) off, just click on the blue checkbox to the left of its name, or even uncheck the box next to Effects. Unchecked effects are disabled and can be re-enabled with another click. If you don’t like an effect and want to remove it entirely, select the effect in the Inspector by clicking on it, then press delete.

It’s also worth trying Match Color, as follows:

⌥-click on a clip to select it and move the Playhead to that point.

Choose Match Color or press ⌥⌘M.

Click on a frame within a different clip in the timeline, one that has colors you want to imitate. This clip should have similar content to the clip you want to change, unless you’re trying to create a strong tinted effect. Here’s what you’ll see:
